Teaching: Growing Spiritually with Intentionality
Teaching is more than just standing up in front of a group of students and talking about the Bible. Teaching is about knowing what the Bible says and equipping people to apply it to their lives. We want to show students that the Bible is relevant to their everyday lives and can impact their world around them. Our teaching strategy involves exposing students to the Bible, exploring its meaning, and helping them apply it to their lives. We also take opportunities to discuss hard topics and help them understand theology and Christian doctrines.
Our strategy here at Mineral Baptist includes two main teaching moments: Sunday School on Sunday mornings
and Wednesday Night Youth Group.
Our goal throughout both moments is to help our students learn and apply what we teach in a way that is developmentally appropriate.

Our Sunday School ministry is built with a long-term vision in mind. We want our students to learn the Bible and what it says about the God who loves them dearly as well as understand and experience the transformation it can have on their lives as they live it out and share the message of hope found within.
Starting in the Fall of 2022, we will have two classes (a middle school and a high school class) both meeting in our Family Life Center at 11:10am-12pm.

- MIDDLE SCHOOL (6TH-8TH GRADES): Over a three year period our middle school students will be introduced to Scripture based on Lifeway’s “The Gospel Project” curriculum.
This study seeks to help students understand what they believe and why they believe it by walking them through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, examining Scripture through a Christ-centered lens as well as teaching them essential beliefs of the Christian faith every student show know.
- HIGH SCHOOL (9TH-12TH GRADES): Over a four year period our high school students will be intentionally walked through Awana Youth Ministry’s four year curriculum “Journey“. This curriculum seeks to establish high school students as lifelong disciples through relevant teaching on how to be a disciple of Jesus, living out one’s faith in Jesus, and sharing their faith in Jesus with their friends.
Wednesday Night Youth Group is our mid-week program for all middle school and high school aged students. We consider this our "front door" ministry. We currently meet on Wednesday nights from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM in the Historic Sanctuary (the white chapel on the northeast side our campus).
Youth Group is structured into three parts: games, large group Bible Study and prayer, and small groups.
We open every week with some fun, interactive time helping our students feel welcome, comfortable, and connected.
Our large group time focuses on a broad Biblical topic providing an overview teaching and explanation. We also use this time for intentional prayer for our friends, family, classmates, neighbors, etc. who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
To close each week, we utilize small groups to help make life application for students. Students will be placed in a small group based on age/grade and gender (approximately 5-10 students) and an adult Small Group Leader. Through these intentional conversations, students will be encouraged and allowed to "live life" with one another.
