MBC Upward Basketball & Cheer 2024-2025 Disclaimer

Hey everyone,
We are excited to begin another season of our Upward Basketball & Cheer Ministry here at Mineral Baptist Church. Registration is officially open (as of October 10, 2024). As we head into the season, here is some important information about dates and key details about how we are organizing this season of ministry.
Upward Basketball & Cheer will be open to children ages 4 through 15; except for cheer with a max age of 10. All ages will determined by how old your child is on January 1, 2025.
We will have mandatory evaluations for basketball players (Divisions 1- 3; or ages 4-10) on Thursday, Nov 21st 6-8pm OR Saturday, Nov 23rd 9-12pm (cheerleaders are excluded from evaluations). You do NOT need to attend the entire time (drop-in anytime during that timeframe and leave once your child completes his or her drills).
*Division 4 (ages 11-15) will have their own special evaluation on Sat. Nov.23rd from 12:30-2pm where all players must attend the ENTIRE time for a team draft. No Div 4 players should attend the Thurs evaluation or the Sat early morning evaluation!
Basketball divisions are determined by a players age on Jan 1, 2025:
Basketball and cheer practice will begin the week of Dec 2nd and games will be every Sat from Jan 4th through Feb 22nd.

- Div 2 (7-8yrs old) Practice Thursdays 6-7pm
- Div 3 (9-10yrs old) Practice Tuesdays or Thursdays 7-8pm *depending on coach
- Div 4 (11-15yrs old) Practice TBD but potentially Mon, Tues or Thurs depending on coach;

- D1: 8:30am *rim 7ft
- D2: 9:45am *rim 8ft
- D3: 11am *rim 9ft
- D4 Game 1: 12:15pm *rim 10ft
- D4 Game 2: 1:30pm *rim 10ft
- *Cheerleaders will cheer for D2 & D3 games
- *Only Div 4 plays full-court games and D4 game time can vary week to week (12:15 or 1:30pm)
