What Are You Looking For?
This message is the first in a series of messages exploring the significance of the questions Jesus asked in the Gospels. Just as we ask questions to gain information and understanding, Jesus used questions to guide people toward deeper spiritual truths.
In this sermon, Jesus asked two men, disciples of John the Baptist, who sought to follow Him, "What are you looking for?" Jesus' question highlights the importance of self-reflection and understanding our deepest desires and motivations. Ken Kessler suggests that many people are searching for meaning, purpose, and fulfillment in their lives, often without realizing it. By examining our own lives and asking ourselves similar questions, we can gain clarity about what truly matters to us and how we can find lasting satisfaction. Jesus offers the ultimate answer to our searching hearts, providing the purpose, hope, and fulfillment that we long for.
